Prof. Naval presents Fish-I in PHL Embassy-sponsored "AINNOVATE: The Philippine Experience in Artificial Intelligence" forum (UAE)
Prof. Naval presented "Fish-I" in the recently-concluded "AINNOVATE: The Philippine Experience in Artificial Intelligence" forum held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). "Fish-I" is a semi-automated fish census system, and is also the flagship product of a startup being funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The forum is considered as a follow-up to the "Innovate Sharjah" event held during September last year. DOST Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) director Eric Paringit also gave a talk in the said forum, where he highlighted DOST-funded startups (of which Fish-I is one). Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, as well as Philippine Partnership Circle and Filipino Social Club founding members, also graced the event.
The event was arranged by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, with the intention of advancing relationships and collaborations between the Philippines and the UAE, primarily through the Sharjah Research and Technology Industrial Park (SRTIP).
