IoT Cup returns

IoT Cup returns

The Internet of Things Cup was held last Thursday, June 15, at the lobby of the Alumni Engineers Centennial Hall. This marks the return of the previously annual event which was disrupted by the pandemic. The event was last held in 2019, with the 2020 – 2022 editions made not possible by COVID-19-related restrictions.

The IoT Cup is the capstone project of CS 145 (Computer Networks), and the de-facto capstone project of the Systems series. This year's iteration has the title “IoT Cup 2023: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG)” and featured Internet-of-Things projects that help in the attainment of UN SDGs. The event was partially sponsored by Enstack, whose Head of Engineering, Mr. Paolo Samontanez, served as one of the external judges. Enstack also provided some of the prizes in the competition. The event was won by Transitrack, with Drinkup and Drippy as first and second runners-up, respectively.
