DCS student bags Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging Mag-aaral award

A UPD B.Sc. C.S. student, Miss Jaira Mathena Baetiong Angeles, won this year’s Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging Mag-aaral.

The Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging Mag-aaral is traditionally awarded to outstanding undergraduate or graduate students of the University who have successfully combined academic excellence with extra-curricular achievement, leadership, and public service. Winners of the awards are also automatically nominated to the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) national student award.

Miss Angeles is part of a team (Team Goal Diggers) which participated and won in the AWS Build On Challenge (see 2020 recap). Miss Angeles and her team developed MediBlock, which is an electronic health records (EHR) software. MediBlock has since been rebranded to IvyHealth, and is slated for launch in July 2021.

Miss Angeles also won for Blue Hacks 2020 with an LMS and instant messaging app for schools in remote provinces.
