DCS Mental Health and Wellness Room inaugurated last July 13
In recognition of the important role that mental health and wellness plays in the lives of students and faculty alike, last July 13, the Department inaugurated its Mental Health and Wellness Room in the Alumni Engineers Centennial Hall (AECH). The room is a place where students can "hang out" for mindfulness sessions, and is even equipped with simple gym equipment. Aside from physical amenities, it is envisioned that in the future, there will be a resident therapist who will cater to the mental health needs of students, faculty, and staff.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Carl Michael Odulio (Associate Dean for Administration, College of Engineering), as well Dr. Manolo Mena (Director, National Graduate School or Engineering). The inauguration also featured a talk by Dr. Violeta V. Bautista, the director of UP Diliman PsycServ. The event was hosted by the DCS Chairman, Dr. Jaymar B. Soriano and Prof. Jaime Caro delivered the opening remarks.
