DCS Call for Hiring (May 2022)

The Department of Computer Science of the University of the Philippines Diliman (https://dcs.upd.edu.ph/), one of the country’s leading institutions in computer science in research and education, is inviting applications for a PART-TIME faculty position to handle CS 11 classes this midyear term (June 20 – August 20, 2022). The successful hire may be considered for a FULL-TIME faculty position starting A.Y. 2022 - 2023.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or allied field, from a reputable institution
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral in English
• Can teach basic CS courses such as Programming
• Can work in teams, even as lab handler (team member)
• Can lead teams, and mentor teaching assistants
• Has a publication record in reputable venues and publications (IEEE/ACM conferences/journals, Scopus-indexed journals)

Preferred Qualifications:

• (Primary) Area of interest falls under Databases and Programming Languages – does research in these areas and can teach undergraduate versions of these courses at a highly competent level (proof needed)
• (Secondary) Area of interest falls under Compilers, Operating systems, Computer networks, Digital electronics – does research in these areas and can teach undergraduate versions of these courses at a highly competent level (proof needed)
• Capable of proposing and leading research projects
