DCS Call for Hiring (January 2021)

The Department of Computer Science of the University of the Philippines – Diliman is inviting applications for a FULL-TIME faculty position -

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or allied field, from a reputable institution
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral in English
• Can teach basic CS courses such as Programming
• Can work in teams, even as lab handler (team member)
• Can lead teams, and mentor teaching assistants
• Has a publication/presentation record in reputable venues and publications (IEEE/ACM conferences/journals, Scopus-indexed journals)

Preferred Qualifications:

• (Primary) Area of interest falls under Databases and Programming Languages – does research in these areas and can teach undergraduate versions of these courses at a highly competent level (proof needed)
• (Secondary) Area of interest falls under Compilers, Operating systems, Computer networks, Computer security, Digital electronics– does research in these areas and can teach undergraduate versions of these courses at a highly competent level (proof needed)
• For Ph.D.-degree holding applicants – capable of teaching graduate level courses, as well as mentoring/advising graduate students
• Capable of proposing and leading research projects
